In my sleep

Sometimes while I am asleep I will smile, laugh, cry, suck on my tongue, and even blow raspberries. No wonder Daddy calls me an active sleeper!

Blessing Dress

Sit and Smile

Now that I know how to sit up I no longer like to just be propped up.  If anyone just lays me back on the Bobby, or even the couch, I will pull myself up right away and sit forward.

Mommy caught me rolling over this morning.

I wanted to join Mommy and Daddy for dinner tonight.  I was trying to grab Mommy's fork, but they decided to give me my own spoon instead, and that was fine with me.  I haven't started eating solids yet, so I gave my spoon a trial run.  Can't wait until they put food on the spoon for me.

 

It may be upside down, but what do you expect from someone that's never used one before.

  

I graduated to the bathtub today!

  

 I loved being in the tub, but I love anything that has to do with water.

  

My new play area

Mommy was needing to do her hair and make-up, but I was wanting to be near her, so she came up with a great idea.  She put me in the sink, and I absolutely LOVED it!!!

I got to look on the mirror (one of my favorite things to do)...

 

I liked trying to sit up in the sink...

  

and watch Mommy...

Hold it myself

This morning Mommy let me keep my legs free while I played on the floor.  This makes it a lot easier for me to play with them.  While I was playing all by myself on the floor, I loved grabbing my own toys and I especially enjoyed reading my book.

 

  

After Daddy got home he was having a drink of water, and I wanted some of it.

  

I also wanted to hold the glass all by myself, like a big girl.  It was really heavy, but I was able to hold it for a little while.

  

Table roll

Tonight while Daddy was talking to Grandma on the phone I decided to roll over on the table. Mommy was just going to get a picture of me laying on the table but I surprised her and she caught me in motion.

My Ball

For Christmas Mama Holly gave me a ball.

 

It has holes all over it,

  

it makes it so that I can hold onto it,

  

and put things through it (like my fingers and tongue).

  

Daddy can even hook it onto my car seat, so I can play with it when we go out.

  

 I love my ball!

Getting a mouthful

I love to put things into my mouth!

Here I am pulling myself up to taste the Boppy.

Daddy thought that I would like to play with my bare feet, so he took my socks off for me. What he didn't expect was me wanting the sock he took off. I surprised him when I grabbed the sock and promptly put it into my mouth.

Here are some new noises that I have started to make

I have started to sing to myself when I go to sleep.

This video is dark because it is bedtime and Mommy didn't want to turn on the lights since I was going to sleep. Just enjoy my sweet voice.

Grabbing my bug and sun

For a long time I have watched the bug and sun that hang above me in my swing.

 

For months they have been out of my reach though I have tried to get a hold of them.

  

 I would reach and reach, but still they would be just beyond my fingertips. 

  

 That all changed today...

  

I was finally able to touch them,

  

and even grab onto the bugs leg

  

After getting the bug, I went on to capture the sun

  

More jumping (or walking)

I have discovered that the jumper thing is great for practicing my walking.  While Mommy was doing the dishes in the kitchen I kept walking out to see her better.  I also like to walk towards the door frames since I am in the middle of the doorway.

 

I also really like the strap, it fascinates me.

  

Five months

Now that I am five months old I have added these things to the list of things that I do...

~Sitting up
~Standing just holding onto things
~Roll over tummy to back completely on my own
~Move around in circles on my tummy
~Shimmy or creep around
~Love saying "na, na" (really finding my voice)
~Pulling (things towards myself, of myself towards things)
~I now recognize that Elizabeth is my name and I know who Mommy and Daddy are
~I love to sing (to myself or whoever will listen to me)

Here I am playing with my toys in my room today.

I also had a great time playing in the jumper. I love the straps!
