My last night with Mama Holly

Every night Daddy reads stories from the scriptures to me.  I love it when he rocks and reads to me!

Mama Holly is finishing up my quilt while I am enjoying laying on its softness.

Mama Holly is going to be leaving tomorrow.  I know that I will miss her.  We have been able to spend so much time together this month that she has been here visiting me.  She has helped take care of Mommy, Daddy, and me.  We are all going to miss her!

Playing on the Boppy

Today Mommy out me on the Boppy to play on to help me strengthen my growing muscles.

I first decided that I would try to stand up(I almost pushed myself over the front of the Boppy).

I like looking at Mommy, and giving her a grin

Uh-oh, I am rolling down the side of the Boppy

All fall down!

It's okay, I'm alright, Mommy picked me up and put me right again

When is it my turn to take the pictures?

Lesson from Daddy

This morning Daddy took me on a walk so that Mommy could finish getting ready for her lesson.  While we were on the walk Daddy taught me a lesson.  We picked some pretty yellow wildflowers, and when we got back we gave them to Mommy.  Mommy loved them!

I like to have my hands on my face when I am sleeping, eating, and pretty much any other time

Oops!

After Mommy fed me some lunch she put me in the Boppy while she got ready for the day.  Soon after she left I slid down so that my head went to where my bottom was supposed to be.

Napping in my bed

I haven't been sleeping in my bed very often lately.  Mama Holly has been sleeping in my room while she is visiting so I have been in the play yard.  But today I got to take a nap in my own bed.  I like my bed.

One month checkup at Five Weeks

I went to see the doctor again today.  I now weigh 9 pounds and 13 1/4 ounces(50 percentile), and I am 22 1/2 inches long(90 percentile).  When the doctor came in Mommy asked him some questions about me.  She asked about the red marks on my face, and he said that they are birthmarks that will probably fade.  She then asked about my bumps on my face, and he told her that I have cradle cap, and that might be what is causing the bumps.  He then told her what she could do to get them to go away.  After checking me he said that I am healthy.  I am glad.

Resting after the doctors' visits(mine and Mommy's)

Trying to roll and tummy sleep

Last night I was laying down on the floor by Mommy, and I rolled onto my side.  I couldn't roll all of the way over yet, but MamaHolly said that I might soon.

I love to sleep on my tummy!  I sleep so much better when I am on my tummy, that Mommy sometimes has to wake me up from my naps to remind me that I am hungry.

One Month Old

Today I am a month old.  I have been growing, and learning a lot, since I was born.  A few of the things I can do now include:

~Smile and laugh
~Grab onto things, like hair(including my own)
~Click my tongue
~Focus on faces and objects
~Follow moving things
~Wake up only once during the night
~Don't really spit up
~Only tolerate a pacifier
~Do amazing things with my long tongue
~Mimic faces, and tongues
~Love to be cuddled
~Neck is getting to be pretty strong
~Love looking out the windows

Today we went to a pretty park, and Mama Holly took pictures of Mommy, Daddy, and me.

Almost always happy

I love to smile and laugh a lot, but sometimes I let everyone know that I want something more than what I've got.  It might be a new diaper, or maybe some food, or just some more snuggling.

Bedtime with Mommy at Four Weeks

Often in the mornings Mommy brings me into her bed to spend a bit more time to rest before getting up for the day.  We sleep, laugh, and talk together.  I like these mornings with Mommy!

If I had come when the doctors said that I was due, I would have been a month old today.  Funny doctors, I decided that I would choose when my own birthday would be, not them.

Boppy

Mama Holly made a new discovery, I like to sit in the Boppy.  It is so nice and soft to sit in, and sometimes Mommy lets me take a nap in it.

The bottle experiment

Today Daddy feed me a different way then usual.  He put my food into something that they call a bottle.  I was really hungry and I ate my food really fast.  Later while Mommy was holding me I spit up most of what I ate onto her.  I usually do not spit up at all, and when I do I only spit up a tiny bit.  So, since this was so different, Mommy decided to wait longer for me to eat with a bottle.  I am glad because I do not like it when I spit up so much.

I know how to find Mommy's hair really fast, and hold on really tight

Visiting family

Mama Holly has three brothers all live about an hour away from us.  Today we went over to one of the uncles homes, so that Mama Holly can spend some time with them while she is visiting.

After we got home from visiting family, Mommy taught me something new to do with my tongue.  I love to play with my tongue a lot, and have it moving almost all of the time.  Tonight Mommy showed me how to click my tongue.  It took me lots of tries to get it, and I still sometimes have a hard time, but I was finally able to do it.  I love having something else to do with my tongue!

Getting all cleaned up before we go.

Being held by Mommy's aunt again.
