September's simple pleasures

We had lots of fun in September.

Playing at a park after being discharged from the hospital, and between Daddy's classes.

On Mommy's birthday we got to have lots of fun at the beach.

Burying cousin Andrew

Jumping for a birthday picture. No feet or ankles were hurt in the taking of this picture (unlike last year).

Had to ride the carousel at Howarth Park.

At the end of another beach day we almost had a little stowaway ride home from the beach with us.

FairyTale Town

After Elizabeth was discharged from the hospital last week, we played at a park and discovered FairyTale Town nearby, but it was already closed for the day.  She was really disappointed that we couldn't go in.  She had an appointment for a lab draw to check her numbers on Monday, so I promised her we would go after her labs.  She really looked forward to our next rip to Sacramento to be able to visit FairyTale Town.

Well, Monday came and we were off to Sacramento for Elizabeth's lab draw. She was great, and we quickly made our way to FairyTale Town as soon as she was finished.

We had a blast! Elizabeth loved it all!

Here's some of the fun things we discovered....

Going under Humpty Dumpty's wall
King Arthur's Castle
Mary had a Little Lamb
There was an Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe
Pirate Ship

Gingerbread House
Tortoise and the Hare
Wizard of Oz

Cinderella

Jack and the Beanstalk
The Little Engine That Could
The Crooked Mile
Listening to The Three Little Pigs
The Cheese Stands Alone
Mother Goose
The Crooked House by the Crooked Mile (Elizabeth loved the Crooked Mile)

First ambulance ride

Tonight we took our first ambulance ride. It was a transfer from one hospital to another.

Elizabeth in the ER of the first hospital:

Then off to the ambulance for a 2+ hour transfer:

Strapped in like a race car driver:

On the way the ambulance got to use its lights when a car crash happened right in front of us and we stopped to help out. Elizabeth slept right through it. Amazingly the lady in the crash walked away without a scratch thanks to wearing a seatbelt.

Finally made it safe and sound to the second hospital to get some rest and work on learning how to spell.
