Beautiful blossoms on the ground

This morning, after getting me dressed in one of the adorable outfits that Grandma Baldus gave to me, Mommy put me onto a soft blanket on the ground so that I could look around.  I really like to look out the window during the day time, and see the bright sky.  I also like to watch Mommy when she is watching and talking to me.

The outfit that I am wearing today says "I can make you smile," and Mommy says that it is true.

Pacified at Three Weeks

Mommy finally said that they could start giving me a pacifier, since I like to suck on my tongue a lot.  They have tried a couple of different kinds, but I will only(reluctantly) take the Soothie that the hospital gave to me.  I definitely do not ask to have the pacifier, and only take it after they hold it in my mouth for a while.

Mommy thought that it was funny to see me holding the pacifier in my mouth while I was sleeping in Mama Holly's arms, because I don't really like it that much.

Hold on tight!

Sometimes while I am getting my diaper changed I like to play.  Today while Mommy was changing my diaper I was having fun grabbing onto the back of the changing table.

Mommy's Birthday!

Today is Mommy's birthday, and it was also my first day going to church.  I got dressed up in a new dress that Mama Holly brought, and they put a bow on me to make me all cute for church.  While at church I started to get hungry halfway through the first meeting, so Mommy took me to a room to feed me in.  While we were in there we could hear the people talking.  When the first meeting was almost over I heard a familiar voice, it was Mama Holly that was talking in church!  Mommy was excited, and liked what she said.  After the meeting was over Mama Holly came and found us, and then I got to spend the rest of church with her, while Mommy and Daddy went to teach.

Mommy and me

Mommy's aunt, uncle, and cousin came over to have dinner with us.  Here I am being held by Mommy's Aunt Erin

We played Nines after dinner, and I was on Mama Holly's team.  Daddy won all of the rounds we played except the last one, Mommy's cousin Maddy finally beat Daddy.

I love to Laugh!!!

Last night, or really early this morning, when Mommy was feeding me, I gave her a surprise.  Not only did I give her lots of smiles, but I laughed with her for the first time.  This made Mommy so happy, and I am happy too!

I can never seem to keep my hat on

Giving it another swing

Mommy dressed me up in one of the Holly outfits today.  It has some pretty flowers all over it.  Mommy and Mama Holly say I look cute in it.

Mommy decided to try putting me into the swing again today.  I decided that it isn't as bad as I first thought.  It has some toys for me to look at, and it plays some pretty music while it rocks me.  I think I will take a nap.

Peek-a-Boo

This morning Mommy and I were laying on Mama Holly's bed, and I decided to play some Peek-a-Boo with Mommy.

Ribbons N Bows at Two Weeks Old

It is so nice to have Mama Holly here visiting me.  Last night my tummy was hurting me really bad, so Mama Holly put some peppermint oil on my feet and tummy.  A little while later my tummy started to feel better, and I was able to fall asleep.  Mama Holly knows so many nice tricks.

Mama Holly also brought a lot of things for me.  She brought some bracelets, headbands and bows, my quilt to work on, a cute dress, some Holly clothes, and a few other things.  She likes having a granddaughter that she can help dress up.

Grandma Holly is here!

My Grandma Holly is finally here to see me!  She had a hard time getting here, but she finally made it.  After Mommy and I went to pick her up at the airport shuttle, and got grandma's things things(or should I say my things that she brought for me) home, we went to another doctors visit for me.

At the doctors office they checked me to see if I am still healthy, and gaining weight like I should be.  They checked my weight first and I now weigh 7 pounds and 9 1/4 ounces.  When the doctor came in he looked at my chart and said that he looks to see if I have been gaining about an ounce a day.  Well, he quickly calculated it out and found that I have been gaining about two ounces per day.  They are not worried about my eating anymore.

Mommy then mentioned to the doctor that I have been gaging every once in a while.  He said that this sounds like reflux, and that I should eventually grow out of it, but he proscribed some medicine for me.  My grandma then asked about using peppermint oil on me.  He said to test it first to make sure I don't have a bad reaction to it, but that it should be fine.

After visiting the doctor we all went home to help grandma settle in some more.  Because our home only has two bedrooms, Mama Holly is going to stay in my room, while I stay in the living room in the play yard.

Big smiles and other cute faces

Mommy and Daddy are always smiling and talking to me, and, to Mommy and Daddy's delight, I have already started to give them smiles back.  I love to look at their happy faces and see them light up even more when I smile back.  I also enjoy making Mommy and Daddy laugh by make some cute and silly faces.  Daddy especially likes, what he calls, my 'one-eye trick.'  I do this when I am first waking up from a really good sleep.  Daddy says that I get this from Mommy.  Mommy says that she does this when she is trying to get used to the light, one eye at a time.
